WILSON, N.C. — October 8, 2019 — The Barton Art Galleries at Barton College is excited to host the Friends of Visual Arts” Fall Lecture featuring Durham-based artist Stacey L. Kirby. The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m., in the Barton Art Galleries in Case Art Building on campus. The lecture is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend. For more than a decade, Kirby has combined installation and performance to create “performative interactions” in alternative, private, and public spaces. Artists Ivana Beck, Lorraine Turi, and Gabrielle Duggan each create work that moves their chosen medium and art form beyond the commonplace and into unique and provocative works.
