Special Advisor to the President for Diversity and Inclusion

Photo of Trinette Boone-Langley in Kennedy Rare Book RoomThe Special Advisor to the President for Diversity and Inclusion is an intentional role created to lead and advance diversity and inclusion policy, processes, initiatives, and systems within the campus community. Trinette Boone-Langley brings great depth and breadth of experience and expertise to this new role, as she collaborates with student leadership, faculty, and staff to proactively partner in the development of diversity and inclusion programs and services on campus. Her responsibilities include conducting research and analysis advising the President and Senior Staff regarding best practices and current trends for diversity and inclusion, while guiding campus-wide training and development. Ms. Boone-Langley meets regularly with the President and Senior Staff to support the development of campus-wide diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Ms. Boone-Langley also serves as an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Director of the Social Work Program at Barton College. She was a recent recipient of the 2020 Lincoln Financial Excellence in Teaching Award at Barton this past spring; and, earlier in June 2020, she was among the 24 North Carolinians named to the 2020-2022 Class of Friday Fellows by the William C. Friday Fellowship for Human Relations, the flagship program of Wildacres Leadership Initiative (WLI).
