Summer Courses
Barton College’s Summer Session in Wilson, NC is open to Barton College students, students from other colleges and universities, teachers renewing licensure, high school graduates accelerating their college programs, and individuals in the community pursuing personal interests in the liberal arts. The normal course load allowed for a summer term is twelve (12) semester hours. Courses are also offered online and in hybrid formats (partially online and partially in-class). From late May through early August, there are four over-lapping summer terms; two are four (4) weeks and two are eight (8) weeks in duration. Students may enroll in any and all terms during the summer. Students should view the Barton College Academic Calendar for add, drop, and withdrawal details.

Pre-Approved Transfer Courses
Barton College students can access a list of pre-approved transfer courses on College Consortium. These transfer and consortial courses have been pre-approved by Barton College for students to request registration. Students must click the link, sign up for an account using their Barton College email, verify their Barton College email, and register for pre-approved courses. Please note that all registrations are still dependent on Barton College approval on a student-by-student basis. Visitor Application
For Students Who Are Not Currently Enrolled at Barton
Individuals who wish to take classes during Summer Session must complete a Summer Session application. Visit our college application portal and complete the Non-Degree-Seeking Application to apply for the Summer Session.
Please note that admission to the Summer Session does not formally admit a student to the College. For formal admission with full-time status, the student must complete the Barton College Application for Admission.

Financial Aid
Limited financial aid is available to students enrolled during the Summer Session. There is an additional application that must be completed in order to receive aid. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for details.
