BARTON COLLEGE (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the https://www.barton.edu/ website (the “Service”). For users located in the European Economic Area, and to the extent applicable, BARTON COLLEGE is the data controller and is responsible for the Personal Data (as defined below) of EEA users of the Services.

In relation to marketing communications, we may provide you with an “opt in” or “opt-out” mechanism depending on where in the world you are located. An “opt-out” mechanism will provide you the opportunity to indicate that you do not want us to send you such further communications, and if you “opt-out” we will not send you any.
LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA UNDER GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)
Generally, we process your Personal Data on the basis of one or more of the following legal grounds:
- We need to perform a contract with you;
- You have given us permission to do so;
- The processing is in our legitimate interests and it’s not overridden by your rights. Such “legitimate interests” include:

RETENTION OF DATA

BARTON COLLEGE may share your Personal Data with the parties, or in the circumstances, set out below. SECURITY OF DATA
The security of your data is important to us, but no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
