Changing Your Major
Complete the Request for Major/Minor form to change majors. A new faculty advisor will be assigned to you with your new advisor contact information available under the My Academic Information section on the Academic Info tab of Campus Connect. Your current academic advisor, your faculty in your new intended major, and the staff in the Office of Student Success are available to help you with decisions about choosing or changing majors.
A freshman is a student who has earned fewer than 30 semester hours;
a sophomore, 30 to fewer than 60 semester hours;
a junior, 60 to fewer than 93 semester hours; and a senior, 93 semester hours or more.
N.C. Community Colleges Course Equivalency
Barton College accepts up to 64 semester hours of course work taken at two-year institutions. Students must have received at least a C in order for the grades to transfer. If you have questions about courses not included on this list, contact the Registrar’s Office.
Barton College is now a member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), which opens distance education options for Barton students. Simply, this means that students are provided the opportunity to enroll in online courses regardless of their residence.
