WILSON, N.C. – March 30, 2015 — The 19th annual Barton College Creative Writing Symposium, featuring several Barton and Atlantic Christian College alumni authors, will be held on Monday, April 20, in The Sam and Marjorie Ragan Writing Center. The symposium will include afternoon discussions and an evening reading with alumni Charles Blackburn, Michael Brantley, David McGehee, Brandon Sneed, and India Staten. There is no charge for the event, and the public is invited to attend. The exhibition will open on Thursday, August 8, with an opening reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. WILSON, N.C. — Barton College associate professor of photography Gérard Lange is teaming with his Barton alumna wife, Amanda Lange, a nationally certified art teacher at Hunt High School, to present a joint exhibition titled “Betrothed,” at the Arts Council of Wilson. The theme of the couple’s exhibition is described as one of natural curiosity hinting upon elements of Romanticism and Transcendentalism. 111th Commencement Exercises Held Sunday at Barton

WILSON, N.C. — Mother’s Day proved a perfect backdrop as graduating students’ families joined the Barton College community on the campus green for Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 12. Dr. Assad Meymandi delivered the commencement address. Some 230 seniors participated in the 111th annual commencement exercises. Dr. Norval C. Kneten presided over his ninth commencement program as president of Barton College. Dr. Kelly M. Thompson, interim provost and vice president for external relations, presented the graduating class. WILSON, N.C. — On Saturday, April 21, Atlantic Christian College and Barton College music alumni and friends, representing over four decades, will perform in the “Voices Reunite” concert to be held in Howard Chapel at 7 p.m. There is no charge for the program, and the community is invited to attend.
