Alumnus David McGehee Reads from His First Novel for Writers Series on March 18

Barton College alumnus David McGehee (’69) will read from his first novel, Cedar Birds, as part of the Victor R. Small Writers Series on Monday, March 18, 2019, at 7 p.m., in The Sam and Marjorie Ragan Writing Center.
 
Cedar Birds examines the beliefs of the coastal Carolina Indians, particularly the Coree, honoring their connection with all living things.The narrator returns from the Vietnam War a changed man, ready to ponder the spiritualism of the shaman as he comes to terms with his own sense of identity.
