WILSON, N.C. — August 2, 2017 — Wilson Business Leader Christy Proctor, a name synonymous with Chick-fil-A, will be honored at the thirteenth annual Wilson-Barton Partnership Leadership Award Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 28, on the campus of Barton College. WILSON, N.C. — March 1, 2017 — Barton College’s Susan Fecho received the highest recognition in the 2017 Handcrafted Exhibition, a nationally juried show currently on view at the Maria V. Howard Arts Center in the Imperial Centre in Rocky Mount. Professor of art and dean of the School of Visual, Performing, and Communications Arts at Barton, Fecho was recognized with the coveted “best in show” Acquisition Award for her work titled “Dogwood Shirt,” which will become part of the Arts Center’s Permanent Collection. WILSON, N.C. — February 14, 2017 — Barton College will be among the 22 private colleges in North Carolina debating ethics in law at the annual North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities’ Ethics Bowl February 17 and 18. Two hundred and thirty-seven seniors participated in the 114th annual commencement exercises. Dr. Douglas N. Searcy presided over his first commencement program as president of Barton College.
