OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

An occupational therapist works with disabled, sick, and injured people as they recover and improve the physical skills needed to function on a daily basis. This can include improving fine motor skills and better hand-eye coordination. An occupational therapist needs a Master’s degree and can expect to make around $85,000 annually.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

A physical therapist works with patients who have been injured or need rehabilitation. The PT is responsible for creating a treatment plan, overseeing the patient as they exercise, and educating them about improving their physical mobility and alleviating pain. A physical therapist must have a Doctorate or other professional degree and can expect to make around $95,000 per year.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

A physician assistant works with a licensed physician to examine patients, make diagnoses, administer immunizations, treat injuries, and prescribe medication as needed. In order to be a physician assistant, you must have a master’s degree in physician assistant studies, and a person can expect to make around $120,000 per year.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

A nurse practitioner can perform all nurse duties, including overall patient care and treatment. They can order diagnostic and laboratory tests as needed and diagnose diseases. In some states, a nurse practitioner can also prescribe medication. A nurse practitioner must have a master’s in nursing and can expect to make around $120,000 per year.

Physicians are responsible for treating patients and diagnosing diseases. This includes medical exams, physical exams, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medication, among other responsibilities.

A surgeon is responsible for performing surgical operations on patients. They also meet with patients to perform follow-up exams when necessary.

Physicians and surgeons must earn their medical doctor degrees and can make upwards of $200,000 to over $300,000 per year. These positions are two of the best-paying jobs in medical specialties.
