Members of the Barton College Community,
Barton College has been monitoring the weather, and it seems likely that there will be some snow and slick roads in the area by sunrise tomorrow, Thursday, January 28, 2021.
Given that likelihood, Barton wants to ensure both the safety of its students, staff, and faculty, and the continuation of its operations. Therefore, the College will shift to remote instruction and remote work until 12:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
However, essential staff should report to campus at their regular time, and essential services, including food service in the Culinary Center, will continue during the remote instruction and work periods in the morning.
Supervisors have the authority to determine which activities might not be effectively moved to remote work/instruction tomorrow morning. Those activities, which cannot shift to remote, should either be delayed or cancelled for the morning.
As always, we encourage you to use good judgment and caution as you travel.
If you live in an area where the inclement weather prohibits your travel to classes or work tomorrow afternoon, please be in contact with your professors or supervisor to discuss your specific situation.
