WILSON, N.C. —October 15, 2021 — The Barton College Friends of Visual Arts and the Barton Art Galleries will welcome curator Michael S. Williams, Thursday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. A North Carolina native, Williams fosters community engagement through his work as a consultant and through the Black On Black Project, an organization he founded that works with artists on exhibitions and events that unpack issues affecting the community. WILSON, N.C. — October 15 — The Barton Art Galleries at Barton College welcomes Durham-based artist Stacey Kirby in October. Her exhibition, Vital Records, will be on display October 18 through November 19. Kirby is scheduled to be the Artist-In-Residence October 18 – 30. On Thursday, October 21, the Barton Art Galleries will host a reception and performance by Stacey Kirby from 5-7 p.m. Attendees will be directed into the gallery in small groups to view the installation and performance. WILSON, N.C. — March 1, 2021 — Painting will be the focus of “A Good Look,” an extraordinary exhibition of works opening in March in the Barton Art Galleries on the campus of Barton College. “A Good Look” will feature the paintings of William Paul Thomas, artist-in-residence on campus this spring semester. WILSON, N.C. — January 4, 2021 — Silverpoint drawings will be the focus of an extraordinary exhibition of works opening this January in the Barton Art Galleries on the campus of Barton College. This exhibition will be a combination of a selection of work from the Paula Patterson Collection at Barton College and silverpoint works by the Raleigh based artist Angela Lombardi. WILSON, N.C.  — September 30, 2020 — A mixture of painting, graphic design, audio recording technology, and documentary will be part of the 2020 Barton Art Graduates Exhibition scheduled to open on Friday, Oct. 16, in the Virginia Graves Gallery located in the Barton Art Galleries in Case Art Building on the Barton College campus.
