Broadway’s Alan Campbell Returns to Barton for “Oh, What A Night III!”

WILSON, N.C. — Broadway star Alan Campbell returns to Wilson to star in “Oh, What A Night III!” produced by Lauren Kennedy, directed by Alan Coates, and co-sponsored by Theatre at Barton and Hot Summer Nights at the Kennedy in Raleigh.

The show opens Barton College’s fifth theatre season in the Lauren Kennedy and Alan Campbell Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, August 28-29, at 8 p.m. Appropriate for all ages, this year’s concert promises to be an impressive event.

“Two years ago, we created a unique concert event as part of the “Hot Summer Nights” season and brought it to Barton for two sold-out performances,” shared Adam Twiss, director of Theatre at Barton. “The show ‘Oh, What A Night,’ was originally conceived as a tribute to Broadway musicals far too large for the intimate confines of HSN’s Kennedy Theatre in Raleigh. Before the first note was struck, all seats were sold and theatre management was begging for the show to move to the considerably larger Fletcher Opera Theatre, which has since become home to half of the stunningly successful Theatre Raleigh/HSN season!”

The College is pleased to bring this concert back to Wilson as “Oh,What A Night III!” kicks off Barton’s theatre season in grand style, with this encore performance in the Lauren Kennedy and Alan Campbell Theatre. “The performances will showcase a whole new crop of songs from all the biggest and hottest musicals on Broadway,” Twiss continued. “The company’s extensive repertoire will feature the talent of Broadway veterans Alan Campbell, Lisa Jolley, Robert Lenzi, and Steffi Garrard, as well as Cameron Caudill, Christopher Kalfas, John Langley, Sean Seymour, Corbin Mayer, Logan Williamson, Emily Gardenhire, Kimmie Johnson, Ahmad Ratliff, Alexis Van VenRooy, Jon Skinner and Maigan Kennedy.”

Each year, Theatre at Barton’s partnership with Theatre Raleigh/Hot Summer Nights at The Kennedy provides opportunities for students and members of the greater Barton community to attend (and even participate in) theatrical offerings from this accomplished theatre company.

Tickets for “Oh, What A Night III!” are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and older, and military, and $10 for non-Barton students and Barrton alumni.
