Members of the Barton College Community,
In consultation with the Wilson Police Department this morning, Barton College has made the decision to cancel all classes, events, and activities for Thursday, October 11, 2018, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
All campus offices will also be closing at 12:30 p.m. today. Essential personnel will continue to be on campus.
- Meal Service will continue its regular schedule throughout the day and evening.
- Hackney Library will continue its regular schedule throughout the day and evening.
- Parking – We encourage those who have parked vehicles in low lying areas of the campus, particularly behind Hamlin Student Center, to please move their vehicles to Lots A and B (Hackney Library and Wenger Hall parking lots) at Noon today, when these lots are reopened following the morning Wilson 20/20 event.
*Faculty and Staff – Please shut down and unplug your computers before you leave campus today to avoid any damage through power surges.
*Students – Please be aware of this same concern for your computers that you may have plugged in during the storm.
We encourage everyone to use good judgment and caution as you travel today.
Please continue to monitor Barton email, the Barton website www.barton.edu, Barton social media (www.facebook.com/bartoncollege, www.twitter.com/bartoncollege, www.instagram.com/bartoncollege), and the inclement weather message lines at (252-399-6868) for students and (252-399-6600) for faculty/staff.
