WILSON, N.C. — November 21, 2023 — Tis the season to be merry as Theatre at Barton presents a “Holiday Cabaret.” The annual holiday theatre event is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Family Theatre on the campus of Barton College.
A marvelous holiday tradition at Barton College, this variety show will celebrate the season with favorite sounds of Christmas. The production will include Dickens’ carolers, stories, poems, and songs offered by favorite local performers and musicians. “
Theatre at Barton is thrilled to welcome back the Moonlight Swing Band to share their talents and popular Big Band sound, along with musician Chris Hagan and another surprise guest artist,” shares director/producer Sherry Lee Allen. “It promises to be a great evening of peace, goodwill, and fun holiday entertainment for the entire family.”
The “Holiday Cabaret” production team is led by Allen, Director of Theatre at Barton, with holiday costumes by Dorothy Austin-Harrell and technical direction by Michael Dornemann. Barton audio recording student Kayla Cephus will design sound and Cindy Jones is the assistant director.
Tickets for the “Holiday Cabaret” event are $15 adults, $8 child, senior and military, and $10 Faculty/Staff employee. Barton students enjoy free admission with their ID. Reservations are required to be made online at www.barton.edu/theatre for all tickets, including those for Barton students.
Unwrapped toy donations will be gratefully accepted and collected for Faith Connections’ Christmas Clearinghouse Toy Drive.
