WILSON, N.C. — January 28, 2015 — Celebrate Valentine’s Day in gala fashion with the Barton College/Wilson Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the twenty-fourth annual “Love the Symphony.” A much-anticipated annual event, this season’s “Love the Symphony” concert will feature vocalists Joel Gay and Sherry Lee Allen. The event will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. in Wilson Gymnasium on the Barton campus. Barton College/Wilson Symphony’s “Downtown” Concert on Oct. 9

WILSON, N.C. — The Barton College/Wilson Symphony Orchestra will present their first concert of the 2014-2015 season on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. This annual free concert will be held at the Edna Boykin Cultural Center at 108 Nash Street in Wilson. The program will feature noted soprano and former Wilson resident Melinda Whittington, resident artist at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. The program will include classic, familiar arias from some of the greatest operas by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Gounod, and others. WILSON, N.C. — The Barton College/Wilson Symphony will present their annual Fall Concert Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m. in the Lauren Kennedy and Alan Campbell Theatre on the Barton campus. The orchestra, conducted by music director Mark N. Peterson, will feature the gifted violin prodigy Brian Lin in a performance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor. WILSON, N.C. — The Barton College/Wilson Symphony Orchestra will present their first concert of the 2012-2013 season on Friday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church located at 100 Green Street in Wilson. Open to the public at no charge, the “Downtown” Concert will feature baritone Joel Gay, the associate music director of the First United Methodist Church, singing arias and songs by Mozart, Bach, and Schubert.
