Barton Students’ Work Reaps National Recognition

WILSON, N.C. – Barton College Phi Beta Lambda students were recognized with top honors at the recent 2009 Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference, and Dawn Lewin-Montoya, a recent Barton graduate from Rocky Mount, was elected Southern Region Vice President. Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), the largest and oldest student business organization, held its National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif., earlier this summer. Nine Barton students and approximately 1,775 college business students from across the United States and around the world attended this conference and the FBLA-PBL Institute for Leaders. ATLANTA – Garnering awards and recognition, eight representatives from the Barton College chapter of Phi Beta Lambda attended the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, June 21-24. Receiving acclaim both collectively and individually, the members of Barton’s Phi Beta Lambda chapter once again brought honor to the College. As a group, the chapter received the Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit and was recognized as an Outstanding Chapter and as a contributor to the national philanthropy, the March of Dimes.
