WILSON, N.C. — Walking into April Poetry Day, held in The Sam and Marjorie Ragan Writing Center on the campus of Barton College, celebrates its tenth year as a Down East poetry event, keeping the poetic spirit of Sam Ragan alive and thriving in new and upcoming writers. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 14, and is sponsored by the North Carolina Poetry Society, Barton College, and the Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet Series, funded by the late Marie Gilbert and former NC Poet Laureate Fred Chappell. Barton Hosts Poetry Workshop Featuring Bill Griffin On Oct. 30

Barton College is pleased to host the North Carolina Poetry Society’s Down East Fall Workshop on Oct. 30 in the Sam and Marjorie Ragan Writing Center. Titled “Poet Naturalist/Naturalist Poet,” the workshop features poet and naturalist Bill Griffin. The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration lasting from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The cost of the workshop is $15 for NCPS members and $25 for non-members and includes lunch.
