“Les Misérables” in Concert on September 11 on the Kennedy Family Theatre Lawn

WILSON, N.C. — August 27, 2020 — “Les Misérables” in Concert, promises to be a must-see performance for those attending the sixth annual benefit concert for the Jonathon Scott Bennett Scholarship Endowment. This program, offering vocal highlights from the musical, will be held on the campus lawn of the Kennedy Family Theatre at Barton College on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for this event are donation-based, and may be purchased in advance by calling 252-825-7502.

There will be limited seating for the audience on the theatre lawn. All those attending must wear face masks and observe social distancing protocols.

Cast members include: Matthew Clay Raines as ValJean, John Cullen Grantham as Marius, Madeline Edwards as Cosette, Kate as Eponine, Jim Grant as Javert, Sherry Lee Allen as Fantine, Adam Twiss as Monsieur Thenardier, and Linda Barrera as Madame Thenardier.

Rita Bennett will accompany on the piano joined by musician Justin Collis playing woodwind instruments. Grant also serves as music director for the production, Michael Dornemann is the technical director, and Nicholas Leek is the sound designer.

This scholarship is awarded to Fike High School graduates who are recognized for excelling in the areas of scholarship, musicianship, athletics, and community service, as the scholarship’s namesake Jonathon Scott Bennett did during his life. This scholarship endowment is sponsored by the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF).
