Barton’s Fall 2022 Senior Exhibition and Annual Juried Exhibition Opens December 1 with Reception

WILSON, N.C. — November 18, 2022 — Barton College is pleased to announce the Fall 2022 Senior Exhibition and the Annual Juried Exhibition will open on Thursday, December 1, in the Barton Art Galleries in Case Art Building. A reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. for both exhibitions.

Four seniors within the School of Visual, Performing, and Communications Arts will have their work on view in the Barton Art Galleries through December 9. Those seniors representing the Mass Communications, and Visual Arts programs include —

Ian D’meza of Miami, Fla., plans to graduate in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communications.

Ashley Duran of Goldsboro plans to graduate in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art and a minor in Business Administration.

Brandon Johnston of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, plans to graduate in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Business Administration.

Jade Malinish of Rocky Mount plans to graduate in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree Art and Design with a concentration in Graphic Design.

Chrislyng McKenzie of Rocky Mount plans to graduate in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design with a concentration in Graphic Design.

For the annual Juried Student Exhibition, Barton students are invited to enter a maximum of three pieces of art in any medium. The guest juror will judge each piece, and select works for the exhibition.

Both events are open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend.

The Barton Art Galleries, located inside Case Art Building on the campus of Barton College, is open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or by appointment.

Barton Art Galleries requests visitors to make a reservation in advance of their planned visit. Individual and small group tours may be scheduled by reservation, and evening and weekend times may also be scheduled by request.
