Barton College’s Dr. Randy Hamm and Nursing Major Preston Propst Honored by The Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina in 2023

WILSON, N.C. — Barton College is proud to highlight the outstanding achievements of Dr. Randy Hamm and Barton senior Preston Propst in the Judy Howard Hill Nursing Program, within the School of Health Sciences, earlier this fall semester.

Dr. Randy Hamm, D.N.P., R.N., Associate Professor of Nursing and Clinical Placement Coordinator, was recognized as one of The Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina in 2023. This recognition is a testament to Dr. Hamm’s excellence in practice and unwavering commitment to the nursing profession.

Additionally, Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina acknowledged Barton senior nursing student Mr. Preston Propst. He was presented with the 2023 Certificate of Scholarship in recognition of his exceptional achievements in nursing education at Barton.

The Great 100, Inc. exists to recognize and honor registered nurses in North Carolina for their commitment to excellence and to promote a positive image of the nursing profession. The organization annually seeks nominations that represent nurses across the state who demonstrate excellence in the nursing profession.

Nominations are rigorously scored based on various criteria, including how the nominee promotes and advances the profession of nursing, demonstrates integrity, honesty, and accountability, displays commitment to patients, families, and colleagues, demonstrates caring and assists others to grow and develop, and radiates energy and enthusiasm while contributing to overall outcomes in their practice setting.
