Members of the Barton College community,
As a result of the approaching winter storm, Barton College has made the decision to close its offices and cancel all classes and team practices for Friday, January 21, 2022.
Important information follows —
Please note that Thursday (Jan. 20) evening classes and events will be held as scheduled, with the exception of the Opening Reception in the Barton Art Galleries for the “Grounding Whispers Infrasound Recordings of Wilson,” an exhibition and installation by Miguel Elizalde, Assistant Professor of Communications at Barton College. This event has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27.
On Friday, Jan. 21, the Culinary Center in Hamlin Student Center will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m., and the BC Bistro will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
On Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22-23, the Culinary Center will follow its normal weekend operating schedule for food service.
Please remember that the College expects all students to continue to follow the campus COVID protocols throughout the long weekend to ensure everyone remains safe and healthy to begin classes again on Monday morning.
This expectation of adhering to Barton COVID protocols also extends to all students who choose to go home for the weekend as well.
The College will continue to monitor the weather conditions and will keep you posted on any additional changes to the operating schedule through email, website, social media and the inclement weather message lines. You are encouraged to check one or more of these communication options for updated messages.
Please use good judgment and caution if you travel this weekend.
