Stellar Singers and Starlight Dance Band Promise A Golden Age Performance on Sept. 14

WILSON, N.C. — September 10, 2019 — “Jazz It Up,” featuring the smooth harmony of the Stellar Singers backed by the big band sound of the fabulous Starlight Dance Band promises to be a “must-see” performance for those attending the fifth annual benefit concert for the Jonathon Scott Bennett Scholarship Endowment. The program will be held in the Kennedy Family Theatre on the campus of Barton College on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m.

Talented vocalists Sherry Lee Allen, Eddie Atkins, Hannah Slaughter, Tim Messina, Elizabeth Winstead, Alex Guyton-Lange, Bobbie Jo Bone, and Cory Whaley will bring to life those favorite melodies of the Golden Age of Song.

This scholarship funds Fike High School graduates who are recognized for excelling in the areas of scholarship, musicianship, athletics, and community service, as the scholarship’s namesake Jonathon Scott Bennett exemplified during his life.

Tickets for this event are available in advance from the Arts Council of Wilson box office or at the Kennedy Family Theatre door on the evening of the performance.

General admission is $25, and reserved stage-side tables for $100 are all-inclusive with hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and wine.
