“Martin Luther King, An Interpretation,” Comes to the Kennedy Family Theatre Stage at Barton on January 16

WILSON, N.C. — January 12, 2018 — Barton College is pleased to welcome playwright Ira Knight as he brings his acclaimed one-man production, “Martin Luther King, An Interpretation,” to the Kennedy Family Theatre stage at Barton College on Tuesday, January 16, at 7 p.m. There is no charge for the performance, and the community is invited to attend.

The dramatic performance is described as an original, thought-provoking one-man interpretation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and work. The interpretation provides a unique lens to better view the human complexities of this minister and civil rights leader who committed his life’s work to generating monumental change across the country.

Actor John Ivey deftly engages the audience as he embodies the spirit of this great leader through a conversational style of storytelling. Historical accounts and personal stories come to life as Knight’s interpretation captures the essence of Dr. King’s passion.

This event is sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Minority Student Association at Barton College.
