Barton College to Host “Home Sweet Homecoming” October 24–25

WILSON, N.C. – September 17, 2025 – There’s no place like home, and Barton College is inviting Bulldogs near and far to celebrate “Home Sweet Homecoming” on Oct. 24-25, 2025. From athletic matchups to campus traditions and lively gatherings, the weekend is designed to bring alumni, students, families, friends, faculty and staff back together where it all began.

The celebration begins on Friday, Oct. 24, with the Alumni Association Golf Tournament at Wilson Country Club. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. with tee-time promptly starting at 10 a.m. Later in the afternoon, fans can gather at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex for back-to-back men’s and women’s soccer games against Belmont-Abbey at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.

Friday night, the celebration moves to Center Campus for the Bulldog Bash headlined by “The Soul Psychedelic Orchestra.” Paired with food trucks, fellowship, and plenty of Barton spirit, the Bash sets the perfect tone for the weekend ahead.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, the day opens with the Torchbearers 50 Year Legacy Society Induction Ceremony and Breakfast in Hardy Alumni Hall honoring the Class of 1975. This special event recognizes alumni for their connection to the College and their lasting contributions to its legacy. Eligible alumni who would like to register for this event may do so by contacting Katie Thomason at [email protected] or by calling (252) 399-6544. Campus Tours will also depart from the Bronze Bulldog at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m.

The Barton Yard Tailgate will begin on Center Campus at 11 a.m. Featuring tent rentals, lawn games, food trucks, live music, and a kids zone, the tailgate is a centerpiece of the festivities and a favorite gathering spot for Bulldogs of all ages. For those seeking a convenient and hassle-free experience to gather with their group or organization, tent packages are available, offering alumni and guests a dedicated space to tailgate in the heart of campus. Packages can be purchased within the Homecoming Registration form.

The energy continues at 2 p.m. as Barton faces Shorter University at Electric Supply Company Field at Truist Stadium. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early through the Barton College Athletics website.

The grand finale of the action-packed weekend is the Homecoming Dance, beginning at 8 p.m. under the big tent on Center Campus. At 9:30 p.m., all eyes turn to the stage for the highly anticipated crowning of the 2025 Homecoming King and Queen by Dr. and Mrs. Searcy. With music, laughter, and plenty of Barton pride, the dance promises to send everyone home with memories to last until next year.
