WILSON, N.C. — July 2, 2025 — Barton College is proud to announce that all members of the 2025 graduating class from the Judy Howard Hill Nursing Program have passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX) on their first attempt. This 100% pass rate marks a significant achievement for the College and reflects the continued excellence of its nursing program.
“This 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX is an extraordinary achievement and a reflection of the academic achievement and dedication we see across the School of Health Sciences,” said Dr. David Dommer, dean of the School of Health Sciences at Barton College. “It underscores the excellence of our faculty, the intentional design of our programs with a focus on kinesthetic learning, and the readiness of our students to meet the evolving demands of today’s healthcare environment. Barton graduates are not only prepared to pass licensure exams—they are prepared starting day one on the job to lead, to serve, and to elevate the quality of care in every community they touch.”
The NCLEX is a nationally standardized exam required for licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the United States. Its stringency is well recognized, and a 100% first-time pass rate signals not only student readiness but also the academic strength of Barton’s program and the effectiveness of its faculty.
“Barton’s nursing program is built on a foundation of academic excellence, clinical rigor, and a deep commitment to preparing practice-ready graduates,” said Dr. Randy Hamm, executive director of nursing and practice and associate professor of nursing for the Judy Howard Hill Nursing Program. “Our curriculum is intentionally designed to cultivate critical thinking, compassionate care, and confident decision-making. We do more than teach skills, we shape future nurse leaders who are ready to make a meaningful impact on their very first day. This success is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, the strength of our clinical partnerships, and the exceptional caliber of our students.”
