The School of Health Sciences at Barton College seeks candidates for a full-time Assistant Professor of Nursing position with an anticipated start date of January 2026. In addition to teaching in the Judy Howard Hill Nursing program, the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include academic advising, holding office hours, assisting students outside of class, and active participation in the life of the School and College. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching.
Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Earned doctorate preferred (PhD, DNP, EdD) with a required MSN
- Hold an unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina
- Flexibility in teaching across the lifespan
- Didactic and clinical instruction is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to working with students and colleagues of diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Experience in teaching pre-licensure nursing students
- Ability to lead graduate courses
- Experience in the following: OB, pediatrics, critical care, and/or community health
