Biology Minor

A Biology minor at Barton College will introduce you to the basic and advanced principles of Biology. Students pursuing this minor select electives that complement their majors, often aligning the courses to career interests to make them better candidates in the job market. The minor may also be used to take courses required for graduate programs.

BIO Electives (Level 300 and 400) – Choose 8 hours from:

  • Cell Biology

  • Environmental Biology
  • Environmental Analysis and Assessment
  • Animal Behavior
  • Immunology
  • Immunology Lab

BIO Electives – Choose one (1) course for 4 hours:

  • Topics in Biology – Human Anatomy
  • Introduction to Environmental Sciences
  • Introductory Microbiology
  • Exploring the North Carolina Coast
  • Exploring the North Carolina Mountains
  • Exploring the North Carolina Plains
  • Field Ornithology
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology
