The Academic Enrollment Specialist for the School of Business and Innovation at Barton College is a strategic and collaborative leader responsible for driving recruitment, retention, and program growth within the School. This position serves as a critical bridge between prospective students, current students, faculty, and institutional partners—ensuring alignment between student needs, academic offerings, and industry expectations.
The individual in this role will work closely with Barton’s Pathways program to identify students best suited for health science disciplines and will play a leading role in creating data-informed strategies for enrollment growth. A deep understanding of all majors within the School of Health Sciences is essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty to set ambitious goals for student recruitment and retention.
This position will work with the Dean and Faculty to bring forward emerging trends and labor market demands from their respective industries to assist in stronger recruitment and new curriculum development opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Outreach
- Lead the development and execution of recruitment strategies for all programs within the School of Health Sciences.
- Represent the School at college fairs, open houses, virtual info sessions, and community outreach events.
- Collaborate with Admissions and Marketing to tailor messaging and campaigns for targeted audiences.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with prospective students, families, and academic advisors at feeder institutions.
- Use data and analytics to track student progression and identify at-risk students.
- Serve as a student advocate and resource, ensuring smooth onboarding and continuous engagement throughout the academic journey.
- Coordinate with the Pathways team to identify, advise, and transition students who show interest and aptitude for health sciences, with a focus on non-athletes.
- Develop individualized academic pathways for undecided students interested in entering the School of Business and Innovation with focus on non-athletes.
Faculty Engagement & Strategic Innovation
- Facilitate regular meetings with faculty from each department to set collaborative recruitment and retention goals.
- Encourage faculty to share trends and developments in their respective industries to keep Barton’s programs aligned with workforce needs.
- Promote and support the work of the Dean and faculty in using feedback from prospective students and analytical tools to identify innovative and distance curricular opportunities.
Data Management & Reporting
- Use insights from enrollment and retention data to refine recruitment strategies and recommend improvements.
- Track program performance metrics and provide updates to the Dean and College leadership.
Projects and Other
- Work on projects and other tasks as assigned.
Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Higher Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in higher education recruitment, enrollment management, or student advising.
- Strong knowledge of health science disciplines and an understanding of healthcare industry trends.
- Demonstrated success using data and technology to drive decision-making and achieve enrollment goals.
- Must have a personal cellular phone to upload Zoom phone access
- Experience working with CRM systems, student information databases, and/or AI-driven tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
