All the important things you need to know about transferring to Barton College in Wilson, NC
General Education Waiver Policy
To obtain a General Education waiver, students must meet both of the following criteria:
Completed an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree at a North Carolina Community College
Earned final grades of C or higher in each course included in the AA/AS program of study
Students who meet both of the eligibility criteria and are admitted to Barton College will enter with at least 60 transfer credits and junior standing. All General Education requirements will be waived except for GEN 300: Applying Perspectives.
If either of the eligibility criteria are not met, then a waiver cannot be awarded. Credits may still be transferred on a course-by-course basis, and students must complete all the requirements of the Barton General Education curriculum that are unsatisfied.
Obtaining a General Education waiver does not exempt students from any institutional or major-specific graduation requirements outside of the General Education curriculum.
