Jeff Tilson

Director of Housing and Residence Life

Jeff serves as the Director of Housing and Residence Life as well as the Hall Director for Off-Campus Houses and Apartments. Jeff holds a master's degree in College Student Affairs from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., and a bachelor's degree in Public Relations from York College of Pennsylvania. His office is located in the Hamlin Student Center, lower level.

Samantha Davenport

Area Director for Waters Hall,
East Campus Suites, and Hackney Hall

Samantha serves as the Residence Hall Director for Waters Hall, East Campus Suites, and Hackney Hall. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Barton College in 2014. She recently earned her Master of Education in College Counseling and Student Development from North Carolina State University. Samantha's office is located on the first floor of Waters Hall.

Gaven Mayo

Area Director for Hilley and Wenger Halls

Gaven serves as the Area Director for Hilley and Wenger Halls. He earned his Master of Science Degree in College Leadership and Administration from North Carolina A&T State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UNC Pembroke. Prior to Barton, Gaven worked in case management with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Gaven’s office is located on the first floor of Hilley Hall.

Debbie Larkin

Debbie has served as the secretary for the Office of Student Engagement and Success since 2008 and focuses on Residence Life and Religious Life. She resides in Wilson and has four children and two grandchildren. Her oldest daughter graduated from Barton College in 2014, and her other daughter is currently attending Barton. Debbie’s favorite part of her job is the daily interaction with students.
