Meet Your Residence Life Staff

Joe Dlugos

Director of Housing and Residence Life
Hall Director for East Campus Suites and Hackney Hall

Joe serves as the Director of Housing and Residence Life as well as the Hall Director for East Campus Suites and Hackney Hall. Joe holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Minnesota State University and two Bachelor’s Degrees in English and theatre from Southern Connecticut State University. Joe is also a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of North Carolina and a Nationally Certified Counselor. His office is located in the Hamlin Student Center, Lower Level.

Samantha Davenport

Samantha serves as the Residence Hall Director for Waters Hall and The Office of Residence Life's Off Campus Houses and Apartments. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Barton College in 2014. Currently, she is a candidate for the Master of Science Degree in College Counseling at North Carolina State University.

Lauren Harris

Hall Director for Hilley Hall and Wenger Hall

Lauren serves as the Residence Hall Director for Hilley Hall and Wenger Hall. Lauren graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Business Administration. Beyond that, she earned two Master's Degrees: one in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and a second in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Florida.

Debbie Larkin

Secretary, Student Affairs

Debbie has served as the secretary for the Office of Student Affairs since 2008 and focuses on Residence Life and Religious Life. She resides in Wilson and has four children and two grandchildren. Her oldest daughter graduated from Barton College in 2014, and her other daughter is currently attending Barton. Debbie’s favorite part of her job is the daily interaction with students.
