Martha Martin teaches in the elementary and middle-school education programs within the School of Education. She is a veteran educator having completed thirty-two years working in school settings as teacher, assistant principal, or principal. Her professional experience has been in schools with diverse, high needs populations, with the majority of her experience here in eastern North Carolina. Martin received her master’s degree from East Carolina University in Elementary Education and also completed certification in Educational Administration and Supervision. She holds a current North Carolina teaching license that includes categories of principal, curriculum instructional specialist, early childhood, elementary education, reading, and mentor. While working in Wilson County, Martin was recognized as Principal of the Year twice. She also has been awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine in recognition of her educational career and service to the state of North Carolina.
