Dr. Fegley comes to Barton College with 18 years of college teaching experience (two years at Stockton State College and 16 years at Maine Maritime Academy) and 12 years as a researcher (three years at Rutgers University and nine years at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill Institute of Marine Sciences). He is a marine ecologist and has published research on population biology of shellfish, ecology/geology of barrier islands, and interactions of microscopic invertebrates with current flows. He continues to conduct research in these areas as well as consulting on applied statistical methods in the sciences and assessing the effects of oil spills on beaches.
