Campus Activities Board
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) plans and promotes campus wide activities at Barton College. Welcome Back Barton Day, Homecoming, Family Weekend, Lighting of the Luminaries, and Pre-Exam Jam are just a few of the traditional events hosted by CAB. A bonus of being a member of CAB is the freedom to create events from scratch. Some of CAB’s most popular events have been designed and implemented on-campus by students. These events include movie nights, trivia nights, poetry slams, casino nights, karaoke nights, comedians, club fair, paintball, and road trips to Kings Dominion amusement park.
Active members of CAB are determined by their demonstration of dedication to CAB, including consistent attendance of weekly meetings and continual volunteerism for CAB-sponsored events. There are no membership dues or application. CAB belongs to the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA). Members attend national and regional conferences held by APCA in various east-coast locations. These conferences are a great opportunity to learn important leadership lessons and to interface with students from many different colleges and universities. They give students the chance to view showcases of possible acts for campus as well as educational and leadership opportunities.
CAB is advised by the Director of Student Activities. For more information on how you can get involved with CAB, contact visit the Student Activities office in the Hamlin Student Center.
