Barton College is seeking candidates for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of English.
Teach undergraduate courses in British literature, including Shakespeare, creative writing, and composition (4 + 4 course load). Additional teaching assignments may include the College’s general education courses. Ongoing professional engagement is expected, as is student advising and participation in the School of Humanities, college, and professional service. Ability to recruit students for the major, as well as interest in travel abroad, is also desirable.
- Doctoral degree in hand, with MFA in creative writing or substantial experience/portfolio in creative writing.
- Commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.
- Ability and commitment to teach all undergraduate levels of British literature, Shakespeare, and creative writing.
- Demonstrated record of successful college teaching.
