The School of Nursing (SON) at Barton College is inviting applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant. Under supervision of the Dean of the School of Nursing, the Administrative Assistant supports all of the School of Nursing’s general operations including a pre-licensure program, RN-BSN completion program, and the MSN program. This is a full-time position. This position requires communication with all members of the College community and especially serves to support the faculty and students in the SON.


Duties include general clerical, receptionist, and project-based work during scheduled hours. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in supporting and nurturing students before and during their studies in the SON, as well as ordering and maintaining supplies. Essential duties include providing an office presence during scheduled work hours; managing the SON calendar; collecting, organizing, and distributing  information for the SON; performing general clerical duties including photocopying, mailing, and faxing; maintaining hard-copy and electronic filing systems; supporting the School of Nursing in tasks related to the processing of clinical and agency contracts; and the maintenance of information related to collecting data for student learning outcomes, accreditation, and approval agency reports.


The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills. A high school diploma is required. Experience in working with people in a fast-paced environment is a plus. Additionally, the successful candidate must be highly organized, have the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and be able to work independently.
