Robert Cagna, J.D.

Robert “Rob” Cagna is an associate professor and the dean of Willis N. Hackney Library at Barton College. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from the University of Florida, where his advisor was Samuel Hill, the renowned authority on religions of the southern United States. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Theology from Washington Theological Union, a Master of Science in Library Science degree from the Catholic University of America, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Florida. His specialty is Animal Rights.

Before coming to Barton College, Professor Cagna was the library director at the Charleston Division of West Virginia University, and before that, he was the Department Head, Access and Document Delivery Services, at the Biomedical Library of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Rob and his wife Mary Beth (who serves as the administrative assistant in Barton’s School of Nursing) live in Wilson with their two wonderful dogs.
