Randy Hamm is a 2003 B.S.N. graduate of Winston Salem State University and a 2013 M.S.N. graduate of Western Carolina University and is currently completing his Doctor of Nursing Practice through Western Carolina University. He has practiced in generalized adult intensive care, pediatric intensive care, emergency department, and critical care ground and air transport. He holds national certifications as a Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Nurse Manager and Leader, and Board Certified Nurse Executive, along with his Nationally Registered Paramedic certification. He has received such honors as the Donna Lynn Eaton Memorial Scholarship and is a recipient of the J. Patrick Barnes Daisy Award for nurses.

Hamm’s research interest includes pediatric pain management in the Emergency Department setting, retention and recruitment of nursing students, and the benefits of bedside patient-care report.
