Linda D. O’Boyle, Ed.D., R.N.

Dr. O’Boyle is a 1978 graduate of Atlantic Christian College (Barton College). She completed her M.S.N. in Family Health Nursing from Clemson University in 1981 and her Ed.D. in Professional Continuing Education from North Carolina State University in 1995. She holds national certification as a Certified Nurse Educator and a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse. She has worked in home health, hospice, labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, intensive care, pediatrics, and medical-surgical nursing. She has been the Director of Quality Management for Home Health and Hospice at Vidant Medical Center as well as Manager of Home Care and Hospice at Wilson Medical Center. She has previously taught at Clemson University, East Carolina University, Sumter Area Technical College, and Pitt Community College, as well as Barton College. She received the NCNA 2004 Nurse Educator of the Year Award.

O’Boyle’s research interests include end-of-life care; nursing education; quality, complementary alternative therapies; and pain management.
