Amanda Maynard, M.S.

Amanda Maynard is a 2007 graduate of Barton College and teaches full-time in the Gerontology program. As an undergraduate Gerontology major, she minored in Psychology and Religion and Philosophy. She is the recipient of the Barton College 2006 Outstanding Gerontology Student award. She also teaches courses that are key to all allied health majors, has taught in the First-Year Seminar program, occasionally teaches a GEN 300 capstone course, and oversees the Healthcare+ HOSA cohort. She has professional experience in healthcare, dementia training, longevity marketing, elder and victim advocacy, caregiver support, and resource referral and coordination. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Gerontology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and she is pursuing her doctoral degree while continuing to teach full-time.
