Theatre at Barton

In 2009, the Kennedy Family Theatre opened at Barton College. This new facility provides Barton, the Wilson community, and the eastern North Carolina region with a premiere teaching facility for the dramatic arts, as well as an excellent environment for entertainment and performances on a broad scope.

Shortly after its opening, a group of theatre enthusiasts created an organization dedicated to supporting the performing arts at Barton. Theatre at Barton’s mission is to enrich the performing arts on campus and throughout the region through the presentation of innovative and collaborative student-centered dramatic programs. The organization also intends to provide performing arts enrichment activities, present annual lectures and master classes, and develop additional resources to meet the needs of the Theatre Program.
