Web and Social Media Content
- Each department or academic school is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of its web and social media content. Before the start of each semester, each department or academic school must review its web presence for errors or inconsistencies. The Director of Digital and Social Media may remove web pages, or social media accounts that are not regularly maintained or that do not receive enough traffic to warrant their continuation.
- Please notify the Office of Digital and Social Media a minimum of two weeks in advance for regular web-related projects, and four weeks in advance for larger web-related projects.
- When requesting additions, changes and/or corrections to your department or academic school’s web pages, please make an appointment to meet with the Director of Digital and Social Media to discuss your needs.
- Plan to bring detailed information that will be needed to service the request.
- Remember to allow a minimum four-week turn-around for the completion of larger web-related projects. The Director of Digital and Social Media will provide an approximate timetable for completion.
- Official social media channels of Barton College fall under the oversight of the Office of Digital and Social Media and are listed below. Any other social media channels with “Barton” or “Barton College” in their names are not official and may not speak on behalf of or use the official logos or trademarks of Barton College. The Office of Digital and Social Media discourages the creation of additional social media channels in the College’s name as doing so dilutes the messaging and marketing of Barton College. Individuals, departments, or organizations operating such unofficial channels bear sole responsibility for their content and may be subject to disciplinary or legal intervention.
