Whether you’re undecided about your major or know exactly what you want to do, we will help you explore possible career paths. All Barton College students have access to Focus 2, an interactive career exploration tool. Focus 2, along with our office, can help you narrow your career interests, match those interests to majors at Barton College, and create a plan of action to achieve your career goals. When registering for an account, use “bulldogs” as the access code to use this tool free of charge.
We offer resume assistance to our students and alumni by appointment and on a walk-in basis. You may send your resume to Career Services through OptimalResume.com or email it to us at email@example.com.
We offer the Strong Interest Inventory to clarify your career preferences and determine how your personality fits with different careers. This career-interest test that compares your interests to a multitude of professions.
Individual Career Advising
The Career Services Coordinator will meet with you to discuss career plans and the resources available to you at Barton that can put you on the path to your ideal career.
Regardless of your year in school or your experience, Career Services will assist you in getting real-world experience and applying what you’re learning. We’ll help you arrange informational interviews, job shadowing opportunities, externships, internships, and co-ops.
The Career Services Resource Center holds job postings sent to us by organizations looking to hire Barton students and graduates. These postings cover everything from full-time, government, part-time, internship, and international.
Job/Internship Search Assistance
We can help you target your search for companies that are hiring in your field and develop an individualized strategy for getting exactly the kind of job that you want.
Mock interviews will help you clarify your thoughts and goals, and correct the small behaviors that might distract the interviewer. We can videotape and review your performance or simply give you an opportunity to practice without taping.
