About the Campus Safety

Barton College is committed to the safety of our community. Keeping our campus community safe is a shared responsibility, and there are many resources available to help students, faculty, and staff stay prepared and aware.

Barton College has a strong partnership with the Wilson Police Department, a key component of our overall safety strategy. Wilson Police provide guidance, support, and patrols to ensure the well-being of our community. They are committed to responding to concerns, collaborating with campus safety staff, and offering assistance whenever needed.

Wilson Police Contacts:

  • Emergency Line (911): Use this line for any situation that requires immediate police, fire, or medical assistance—such as accidents, threats, or criminal activity.
  • Call Boxes: Our campus is equipped with 13 strategically located call boxes, serving as vital resources for students, faculty, and staff. These call boxes provide a direct and immediate connection to emergency services, ensuring a rapid response in emergencies and contributing to a safer campus environment.
  • Non-Emergency Line (252-399-2323): Use this line for issues that need police attention but are not immediately life-threatening—such as safety concerns, questions, or reporting suspicious activity.
Your awareness and proactive approach help us maintain a safe and secure campus for everyone.
