Admissions Process

Task Icon - Icon made by Freepik from Flaticon.comTo be considered for transfer admission into Barton College, submit a completed online application and transcripts from all previously attended institutions. To ensure evaluation of your credits, we recommend that all completed applications and official transcripts be received at least three weeks before your intended session of enrollment.

To be admitted to Barton College as a transfer student, you must have a minimum 2.0 transfer grade point average (GPA) in a minimum of 12 transferable credit hours. Admission of a student whose GPA is less than 2.0, or whose transferable credit hours amount to less than 12, will be at the discretion of the Director of Admissions. You must also be eligible to return to your last institution. For students planning to enroll in professional programs such as nursing, education, or social work, you must first obtain admission to the college and then individual acceptance into the major program. Though nursing requires a minimum 2.70 GPA for admission, education requires a minimum 2.50 GPA for admission, and social work requires a minimum 2.00 GPA for admission, acceptance is not automatic.
