Experience the the beauty of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and apply skills and knowledge in assessing the growth and nutritional intake of at-risk children in the community. Learning experiences will provide an opportunity for students to relate health problems and health needs to nutritional status, dietary practices and lifestyle of children and adults in the Dominican Republic.
Requirements: The course is primarily intended for Nursing students who will use nursing skills to assess growth and nutritional intake of children and adults. While Spanish is not required, it is helpful and enriches the experience.

An immersion experience on the shores of Lago Atitlán - recognized by several traveling authors as the world's most beautiful lake. The lake is surrounded by dormant volcanoes and people of both Maya- and Spanish-descent. Students receive three hours of credit for MKT420 - International Marketing and need to register for the course.
