Barton Art Professor Opens Fecho Designs: Art Studio and Gallery in Tarboro on March 20

WILSON, N.C. — March 10, 2015 — Barton College professor of art Susan Fecho, a resident of nearby historic Tarboro, has opened Fecho Designs: Art Studio and Gallery. The grand opening for the downtown art studio and gallery, located at 110 West Granville Street in Tarboro, will be Friday evening, March 20, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to stop by to peruse the space, experience the artwork, pick-up a class schedule, and enjoy some refreshments. Fecho Designs will offer instructional classes for both children and adults, ranging from printmaking, textiles, ceramic jewelry and contemporary mixed media. WILSON, N.C. – The Barton Art Galleries is pleased to announce the opening of the “Il Libro: The Art of the Book” exhibition on Monday, Aug. 22, with a public reception on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in Case Art Building on the Barton College campus in Wilson. Fecho, Barton art professor and illustrator, at the Barton College Friends of Hackney Library spring dinner on Tuesday, March 31. Barton’s Susan Fecho Illustrates New Children’s Book

WILSON, N.C. – Barton Art Department chair Susan Fecho has collaborated with Virginia-based author Dr. Vernon Lindquist to produce a children’s picture book, “The Day Anna Ganna Bandanna Learned to Fly,” recently published by Doubleabooks of Virginia. Fecho, a well-known and widely admired North Carolina artist, and Lindquist of Prince George, Va., began their blend of talents six years ago, focusing their efforts on the characters in Lindquist’s series about the two young cousins, Anna Ganna Bandanna and Allie Cette Alphabet. “We were colleagues at Barton the year that Dr. L. began his stories,” said Fecho. “The first story was actually called, ‘The Day Anna Ganna Bandanna Was Born,’ but […]
