WILSON, N.C. – Barton College welcomes one of its own, associate professor of art Gérard Lange, as the guest speaker for the upcoming Friends of Visual Arts Fall Lecture on Thursday, Oct. 2. Lange’s lecture is titled, “Voice in the Shadows: Photographs by Ethnic Minorities from Early 20th Century America.” The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Barton Art Galleries located in Case Art Building on campus. Barton College’s Gerard Lange, associate professor of art, will be recognized with a solo exhibition Cabinet of Curiosities on display at Emerge Gallery in Greenville from June 7 – August 30. WILSON, N.C. — The Barton Art Galleries is pleased to announce the opening of the “Contemporary Drawings” exhibition from the collection of Allen G. Thomas, Jr., on Sunday, Feb. 27, with a public reception from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The exhibition, featuring Paolo Arao, Justin Francavilla, Anthony Goicolea, Zachari Logan, Rob Matthews, Chloe Piene, and Michael Whittle will run through March 31. 2010 Senior Art Exhibition “Seven” Scheduled to Open April 17 in the Barton Art Galleries

WILSON, N.C. – “Seven,” the 2010 Barton College Senior Art Exhibition, opens on Saturday evening, April 17, with a reception from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Barton Art Galleries. This event is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend.  The exhibition will run until Monday, May 10. Photography Exhibitions Open Sunday at the Barton Art Galleries

WILSON, N.C. — Barton Art Galleries is pleased to announce the opening of two photography exhibitions on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 2 – 4 p.m. Early and recent work by acclaimed photographer Burk Uzzle will be in the Virginia Thompson Graves Gallery and a selection of work from three photographers from Eastern North Carolina featuring images and artifacts dating from the 1920’s to 1970’s will be on view in the Lula E. “Generation Digital Y” Opens in the Barton Art Galleries on April 5

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton Art Galleries are proud to present “Generation Digital Y,” an exhibition of designs and photographs by the 2008 graduating Barton art students. “Generation Digital Y” will open on April 5, with a reception from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. This event is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend. The exhibition will run until Friday, May 9. Work by Marcos E. Alices-Kinch of Fayetteville will be on view in the Virginia Thompson Graves Gallery.
