AUGUSTA, GA – With a big sheriff patrolling the paint for Augusta State, the Barton College Bulldogs fired blanks all too often Sunday night and saw their season end with a 77-61 loss to the nationally fourth-ranked Jaguars in the NCAA D-II Men’s Basketball Southeast Regional semifinals in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The ice-cold Bulldogs, seeded fifth, had no answer for 7-foot, 300-pound ASU center Garret Siler, mainly because they couldn’t buy a basket. Kneten Elected President of Conference Carolinas

Barton College President Norval Kneten considers his new role as president of Conference Carolinas right up his alley. “When you think about the ideal college athletic experience, you think about Division II,” Kneten said in a telephone interview while traveling through Texas on Friday afternoon. “You think about a balance in athletics and academics. “That’s what we are all about (at Barton College).” Kneten has been selected as the president of the NCAA Div.
