We woke up to another beautiful morning in Puerta Plata. We all shared a delicious breakfast together at a large wooden table under a palapa. We discussed the day’s events with our fearless professor, Mrs. Ruwe. Once our van arrived to transport us to Dove Missions, we jumped in and away we went. During the bus ride to Dove Missions, we mentally prepare for what the day is going to bring, and at the same time, we stare out the windows taking in all the scenes. Barton’s Kramer Sneed Signs with NY Yankees!

Wilson’s loss is New York’s gain. Kramer Sneed, who just finished his junior season at Barton College and had been a member of the summer collegiate Wilson Tobs starting rotation, is headed for New York after signing with the world champion New York Yankees on Tuesday evening. Sneed was taken in the 32nd round in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft earlier this month. “It’s feels really good,” Sneed said by telephone Tuesday night while signing autographs at the Tobs game in Fleming Stadium. “I’m pretty exciting that we finally got the paperwork done, and I’m excited about taking off for Staten Island on Thursday.” Sneed said he will […]

Barton Takes New Bulldogs to Bulls Game

Durham, N.C. – Incoming freshmen joined current Barton College students as well as alumni and admissions counselors at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on July 7, for an evening of food, fellowship, fireworks, and, of course, baseball. Bold blue Barton pennants and smiling admissions counselors greeted the students and their guests as they arrived at the gate. Passing out pennants and tickets, the counselors chatted with the incoming and prospective freshmen. An hour before the game started, the gates opened; and the Barton contingent filed into the stadium.
