WILSON, N.C. — Barton College’s professor emeritus and artist-in-residence J. Chris Wilson will hold group and private critiques of paintings on Thursday and Friday, September 19 and 20, in the Barton Art Galleries. On September 19, there will be a group critique from 4-6 p.m., and each participant may bring one painting for the group to discuss. Chris Wilson will be held in the Case Art Building on Thursday, August 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop will focus on successfully creating the illusion of depth in a painting and will have an illustrated presentation with some hands-on activities. Artist-in-Residence J. Chris Wilson To Host A Painting Workshop In Wilmington July 19-20

WILSON, N.C. — Barton College artist-in-residence J. Chris Wilson will be hosting a painting demonstration in his Wilmington studio on July 19 and 20. The demonstration will take place from 10 a.m. – Noon and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. each day. Participants may attend any part or the entire two-day event. Wilson will begin a painting on Friday and complete the painting by the end of the scheduled demonstration on Saturday. Participants will be observing the process as Wilson develops a painting from beginning to conclusion. He will explain each step and take time to answer questions while he is painting.
